One complaint we hear often about our Friday chart quizzes is that they lack broad appeal.

T-shirt winners are asked to spot the microscopic differences between the Croatian kuna and the Danish krone, or recognise exact annual dollar volumes of US bank lending to non-bank financial institutions. Such challenges favour a certain temperament.

So this week, we’re swapping precision for vibes. All three charts are for mainstream markets but were drawn by the author in felt-tip.

Though we’ve done our best to stick to the lines, it may help to know that the author is left-handed and has a slight hangover. The direction of travel may be more informative than the destination.

Address your entry to alphaville@ft.com, putting QUIZ in the subject line. We’ll tend to name everyone who gets all three right so, if you don’t want that to happen, please let us know. It won’t affect your chances.

The random draw for the exclusive FTAV prize-winner T-shirt happens on Monday at around midday and the judge’s decision is final.
